Over the last 35+ years we have created a community that our children have grown up in, our fur babies hangout at, our partners and family members (they barely come) cheer us on while enjoying beers and the best grilled pretzel bun burgers you’ll ever have. Many of us have created life-long friendships, and together we have celebrated countless milestones since joining this League. For many of us I suppose you could say it’s a bit of our legacy.
We are a group of 160+ talented women (16 - 65 yo), playing Intermediate “C” level women’s fastball. We have many different sides, just like you. Some of us aren’t that good, but we like to laugh, get out, and chuck a ball. Others are very good ball players that have oodles to share about strategy and technique.
We all have our own stories. I’ve seen moms nursing between innings. Dads struggling to pacify baby while moms pitching. I’ve see the kids form quick friendships creating those special summertime memories that we each have from our childhoods. I’ve seen a mom that enjoyed a few bevies on the bench after escaping work, the kids, and the husband! Whatever your reasons are, there’s a place for you. The bleachers at our diamonds are perfect for spectating, and we are proud to have the Calgary Softball Umpires Association calling our games.
We play evenings from the end of April to the end of July: Sundays (5 PM and 7 PM) at the Chinook Winds (south diamonds). We are conveniently located right beside the Splash park and we have a covered playground.
